Flags for Heros

May 31, 2021 – Memorial Day
Lord Baltimore Elementary School – Ocean View, DE

Over $12,000 was raised for Southern Sussex Rotary’s 7th annual Flags for Heroes, the culmination of months of fundraising leading up to Memorial Day. 133 locally sponsored heroes were named by 38th District Representative Ron Gray and Delaware State Treasurer Colleen Davis during the Presentation of Heroes. In addition, during the event, attendees enjoyed patriotic music from the IRHS Brass Ensemble and a speech by special guest Lieutenant Colonel John Fisher. The ceremony was also supported by Cub Scout Pack 280 and Boy Scout Troop 281. Southern Sussex Rotary will raise flags again for the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
